July 6 (UPI) – A book by President Donald Trump’s niece, Mary Trump, will be published two weeks before the original release date, publisher Simon & Schuster announced on Monday.
the the editor said that the book called Too much and never enough: how my family created the most dangerous man in the world will be released on July 14 citing “high demand and extraordinary interest in this book”.
The book was originally scheduled to be released on July 28 and had faced a court challenge linked to a non-disclosure agreement signed between Trump family members preventing them from writing about each other.
Last week, a New York state appeal judge decided that Simon & Schuster would be allowed to proceed with the publication of the book, stating that the publisher was not a party to the settlement agreement.
Simon & Schuster said last week that 75,000 copies of the book had already been shipped before the official publication date.
In a statement Monday, Chris Bastardi, a representative of Mary Trump, condemned the president for trying to block the release of the book.
“The act of a sitting president muzzling a private citizen is just the latest in a series of disturbing behaviors that have already destabilized a fractured nation in the face of a global pandemic,” said Bastardi. “If Mary cannot comment, one can only wonder: what is Donald Trump so afraid of?”
According to the editor, the revealing book will attempt to describe “the dark history of their family in order to explain how his uncle became the man who now threatens the health, economic security and social fabric of the world”.
